Family Friendly Favorites from the CCHS

Vintage Baseball at the Historic Andrew Peterson Farmstead

Join us for baseball played in the field next to the Andrew Peterson Farmstead, using 1860s rules! Two teams will go head to head in a game where the ball is always in play, you’re out if the ball is caught on a bounce, and no one wears gloves! The game is held the first Saturday in August from 1-3pm. Concessions are available for purchase, but the game is free to watch!

Fall on the Farm

Join us for some fall based family fun! On the fourth Saturday in September, meet us out at the Peterson Farmstead for a chance to see – and maybe even pet – some barnyard favorites, get up close to some seriously loveable llamas, and have a chance to see some old farm machinery in action thanks to the Scott Carver Threshers. Carver Parks comes out to cook over our fire pit and for a limited time pumpkins are available for carving. Listen to some wonderful history and farming focused presentations as you enjoy the fall weather outdoors. This free event runs 10am-2pm and is sponsored by Thrivent.
