Volunteering at CCHS
Are you looking to make a difference to a child through education? Are you looking to make new friends? Are you looking to learn new skills or boost your resume? Then the Carver County Historical Society may be just what you are looking for. We offer long and short term projects and the chance to work as much or as little as you would like.
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteer opportunities at the Carver County Historical Society. We are very committed to sharing the museum with volunteers who want to help us with our mission “to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of Carver County.”
We consider our volunteers to be a major resource and we are happy that you are interested in sharing some of your time and talent with us. CCHS staff works with individuals to help find the volunteer placement that is right for them. Our goals are to ensure that volunteers look forward to coming to the museum and that they have fun while making significant contributions to our programs.
If you are an active volunteer at the Society, help keep our information current. Let us know about any changes of address, telephone number, e-mail, emergency contact or employer.

Volunteer Application
The first step toward becoming a CCHS volunteer is to fill out a volunteer application, which can be printed and mailed from the link below.
Once your application is received and reviewed, you will receive a phone call from our Volunteer Coordinator to schedule you for a short phone interview.
The scheduled interview will discuss the following:
- Are you and the museum a good match?
- Why did you pick the Carver County Historical Society?
- When are your preferred days and times to volunteer?
- What are your specific volunteer opportunity interests?
- Which scheduled dates for orientation and training are best for you?
- When are you available to meet with your potential staff supervisor to discuss the specific work for which you have shown an interest?
Print the volunteer application, complete it, and mail it to:
